PAS Statement on Coronavirus
Dear PAS Community,
After thoughtful and data-driven deliberations, the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Board of Directors has today made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the in-person PAS 2020 Meeting set to take place April 29 – May 6 in Philadelphia.
We do not make this decision lightly and had deferred as long as possible in the hopes this outcome could be avoided. Unfortunately, it is now impossible to proceed with the in-person PAS 2020 Meeting in light of guidance from public health officials; widespread travel bans imposed by an overwhelming number of our academic institutions; states of emergency declared by numerous civic authorities and a Philadelphia ban on gatherings of 1,000 or more imposed as of March 12 and our responsibility to protect the health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and staff.
We appreciate this is disappointing news to the thousands of participants who come to the PAS Meeting to share and advance the scholarship of the academic pediatric community. By communicating this decision to you, we hope to free up your time to focus on the safety and well-being of your respective communities.
We are very grateful for your support of the PAS during this difficult time. We realize you may have many questions and concerns regarding hotel reservations, registration refunds or other issues, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions posted to the PAS website or contact the PAS office at info@pasmeeting.org or 346.980.9717.
With our best regards,
